Electrical fire at seniors building temporarily closes Newmarket street Wednesday

No injuries were reported as a result of the small fire at Founders Place on Timothy

No injuries were reported after a small electrical fire at the seniors apartment building on Timothy Street in downtown Newmarket yesterday afternoon.

Central York Fire Services crews were called to Housing York's Founders Place on Wednesday, Aug. 18  for the blaze that was extinguished by the time firefighters arrived.

However, York Regional Police officers closed Timothy between Doug Duncan Drive and Prospect Street for a short period of time for the investigation.
