The chance to dunk some of Newmarket’s well-known personalities and local politicians proved too enticing to keep the dunkers at bay, organizer and Rebel Rouge hair salon owner Roy Jannetta said.
“It was fantastic,” Jannetta said of the event’s turnout. “The dunkers came in waves, and some people stopped by for five minutes just to donate.”
While donations are still rolling in from Sunday’s charity dunkathon, Jannetta said $6,200 was raised in support of SickKids Hospital.
