Discover what Newmarket offers at this weekend’s home show

The 23rd annual Newmarket Home & Lifestyle Show features hundreds of exhibitors, seminars, fun activities for children, a magic show and interactive contest at the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex Friday to Sunday

Whether you are new to the community or a longtime resident, the Newmarket Home & Lifestyle Show is a great way to discover everything your town has to offer in one location.

The 23rd annual Newmarket Home & Lifestyle Show presented by Knowledge Broker Real Estate is taking place Friday to Sunday, March 29 to 31, at Ray Twinney Recreation Complex at 100 Eagle St.

The three-day event, owned and operated by Newmarket Chamber of Commerce, is the largest home show in York Region, bringing together businesses offering a wide variety of products and services from decorating, renovations and landscaping to wellness and professional services.

“It’s a terrific way to discover more about local options, easily speak with company representatives and reduce your legwork and find out what’s happening in the community,” chamber event manager Rosanne Antunes said.

Get expert advice at informative seminars, including: 

  • Knowledge Broker Talks: Home Updates That get top Dollar, Saturday from  2 to 3 p.m.; the Inside Scoop on This Year’s Market, Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m.

  • New Roots Garden Centre: Creating Spring Planters, Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m.

For the kids, many exhibitors will offer family-friendly fun such as face painting and balloon animals.

“We are delighted to have Chris Westfall, an incredible magician who appeals to both kids and parents, as our featured entertainment this year,” said Antunes. 

The high-energy magic show takes place Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to noon.

New for 2019 is an interactive contest experience for a chance to win a $1,000 shopping spree at Upper Canada Mall.

Antunes explained that participants will use augmented reality to enter the contest, adding an element of fun to the show.

The Newmarket Home & Lifestyle Show runs Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission is $5. Kids aged under 12 get in free.
