From Sept. 19 to 25, 2022, select Tim Hortons restaurants will be supporting the Food Bank of York Region (FBYR) during their annual Smile Cookie campaign. This is the first year the FBYR has been selected and invited to be a charity benefactor for this campaign.

“We’re excited and honoured to be a part of such a great campaign that Tim Hortons runs,” exclaims Alex Bilotta, founder and CEO of the Food Bank of York Region. “The Smile Cookie campaign could do a whole lot of good when it comes to fighting hunger in York Region. We are hopeful and want to encourage everyone out there to get out and buy some cookies. It’s really for a great cause and Tim Hortons makes it so easy for everyone to participate and do their part.”

The FBYR invites all residents of York Region to participate in the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign this week and support charities like the FBYR with the simple purchase of their signature cookies. Each cookie retails for $1 and 100 per cent of the proceeds are diverted back to the supporting charity for each Tim Hortons location.

With every $1 smile cookie purchased, the FBYR will be able to deliver three meals across its network. You can find your nearest Tim Hortons location that is directly supporting the FBYR using the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Map.

Smile Cookie supporters are encouraged to post photos online of their cookies and tag the FBYR’s social media accounts (@foodbankyr) using the hashtag #smilecookie to help encourage awareness and fundraising efforts for the campaign.

The Food Bank of York Region is the regional food bank and mobile food pantry with a network of 80+ social service agencies and emergency home delivery programs. The network supports food programs in the nine municipalities of York Region, serving 23,000+ individuals across 7,000 households.
