The Town of Newmarket is asking residents to be their “best elf” this year and contribute to the holiday food and toy drive.

The town is collecting donations, including non-perishable foods, toiletries and unwrapped toys, at the municipal offices for the Newmarket Food Pantry and local Salvation Army.

“Spread the holiday spirit by donating non-perishable food and unwrapped toys,” the town said. “With the holidays approaching, the Town of Newmarket welcomes residents to participate.”

Non-perishable food items that are highly requested include peanut butter, cereal, canned pasta, jam, dry soup, baked beans and diapers.

Donations are getting accepted at 395 Mulock Dr. until Dec. 14, during regular business hours Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The town said you can also make monetary donations online through the Newmarket Food Pantry and Salvation Army websites.
