Here are four ways that you can support grieving individuals and families in our community:

  1. Tonight, enjoy a night out from 5 to 8 p.m. at Boston Pizza — served by volunteers and staff of Bereaved Families of Ontario - York Region — and know that 10 per cent of all food sales will go to the non-profit organization. You can also buy a ticket for the 50/50 draw for a chance to win some cash. Boston Pizza is at 18199 Yonge St. RSVP to [email protected] or 905-898-6265.
  2. On Thursday, Nov. 15, shop at the Charmed by Charity event at Alex and Ani at Upper Canada Mall from 6 to 9 p.m., with 15 per cent of all sales going to Bereaved Families of York Region. Just in time for the holidays, you can buy a gift and give back to your community.
  3. To Dec. 30, when you purchase a Paint Nite event online, $15 goes to Bereaved Families. Paint Nite offers live painting events accompanied by wine or cocktails in local bars and restaurants. You can give the gift of a night out to your family, friends, teachers or just yourself. To support Bereaved Families, be sure to use the code BFOYR when booking here
  4. On Wednesday, Dec. 5, join the Annual Memory Tree of Light Remembrance Service, a beautiful tribute to our loved ones who will be missed during the holiday season, held at Pickering College at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
