The delight of seeing her son, Tim Doan, at the window of her home at Chartwell Alexander Muir Retirement Residence is clearly evident in Marie Doan's face.

My 93-year-old mother-in-law is a resident at Chartwell Alexander Muir Retirement Residence in Newmarket. They have been in lockdown in their rooms for about a week now. She had just got home from hospital and then only to be locked down. So very hard.

We are lucky she is on the main floor and we have been able to do what we are calling ‘window visits.’ We call her on the phone and then stand outside her window and chat.

Yesterday I managed to capture this lovely shot of her and my husband, her son, in the reflection. The look in her eyes sure shows how much seeing him means to her.

Just thought this might be a bit of a day brightener for folks. Small things make a huge difference in these difficult times.
