LETTER: Why I'm voting for Gordon Prentice for deputy mayor

Newmarket is a great place to live. We have amazing walking trails, great schools, and a clean environment, and I feel fairly safe except for traffic congestion and speeding on the main streets.

We have an excellent mayor, John Taylor. He is well-informed, respectful, ethical, and he cares about how development in Newmarket proceeds.

I will vote for Gordon Prentice in this election because I was very angry about how Tom Vegh has consistently voted against our mayor, John Taylor, at regional council meetings when it comes to protecting our green space from unbridled development. Why, one might ask?

I would suggest going on Google and checking out Gordon Prentice Newmarket Ontario. I did, and I liked what I saw and what Gordon stands for. In my opinion, he is an excellent candidate for deputy mayor and regional councillor.

We need a change.
