LETTER: We need to make a commitment to support local restaurants

By ordering take-out at least once a week, we can help our eateries survive these terrible times, letter writer says

It's wonderful that we have small food businesses that are willing to stay open. I know that some of our favourites, including our E.G. Copper Branch and Five Guys are experiencing extremely low turnout for take-away, so that it's almost impossible to continue.

Some of our other favourites like Zucca's, Bangkok Thai, 4 Seasons and Cocelli's have thanked us wholeheartedly for our continued patronage, but times are tough and this is something we can do safely and within our control.

I've spoken to friends and we all agree that if we don't support them in these terrible times, they won't be there when we want them in the good times.

Please consider — and encourage everyone you know — to get local take-out at least once a week.

And thanks, NewmarketToday, for your contributions, too.
