RE: 'We could go bankrupt in a couple of months,' says frustrated store owner, Jan. 14, 2022.

Thank you for writing your article about My Lil Gem in Upper Canada Mall.

I made a point of going to the store to support her local business.

It was nice to meet Kim, the owner. We had a great chat and she was very knowledgeable in helping me choose a  beautiful gift.

Kim makes most, if not all of  the jewelry herself — mostly necklaces and bracelets — all carefully crafted with beautiful stones and gems.

So often we are quick to buy at the big box (or American) stores and forget to realize or even recognize the talents and merchandise that our local citizens have to offer.

I had no idea that My Lil Gem was a local small business operating out of Upper Canada Mall; so thank you for highlighting that and publishing the article.

Let us all spread the word *(and cheer) to keep supporting our local community.

Make a trip to My Lil Gem and you will be delighted at what you find there.
