I agree 100 per cent all governments need to put all their resources into clean energy.

The federal government at least acknowledges that we are facing a climate crisis, but still funds fossil fuels because of the oil industry’s powerful lobby. It must do much more, but how, if we elect a climate denier whose mantra, “axe the tax,” portrays a fee on carbon that is refunded to all but the uber rich?

And in Ontario, we have a Ford government that gets right on board, as they make decisions that add to carbon pollution, building unnecessary highways instead of boosting public transit, building on farm and Greenbelt lands, axing green energy projects, costing Ontarians billions.

But Premier Doug Ford wants to take credit for any federal government-led green energy projects. Does he also want to take the blame for investments cancelled because of Ontario’s poor record on promoting clean energy since Ford was elected? Doubtful.
