Re: OUTDOORS: Crow's death a 'brazen act by a bold predator, July 25, 2022.

That is a very interesting story. Thanks for sharing.

We use to live up near Bobcaygeon on Pigeon Lake and had two crows hanging around our property. We called them Heckle and Jeckle. They would warn us when the foxes were coming through the bush with their loud cawing.

If a fox was carrying food, they would dive bomb the fox. The fox would drop the food and, voila, the crows had dinner.

One day, we saw Heckle and Jeckle take on a garter snake. I wish that we had videoed it. One crow at the front of the snake and the other one at the tail of the snake. Each crow took turns in picking the snake up and throwing it. It was very interesting, watching the two of them.

The snake slithered into a bunch of lily leaves near a big rock and vanished. The two crows looked, but never did find the snake.
