High school grads are refusing to let COVID-19 take away one of the biggest nights of their lives. Proms are cancelled, so they’re celebrating the end of high school virtually today, Friday, May 22.

During #PromIsOn2020, grads will show off their prom wear, dance to a live DJ set by Juno-winning artists Loud Luxury, and meet fellow students from across the country. Many celebrities and special guests are taking part.

The live-streamed event is being coordinated by a national prom committee made up of 36 student leaders, including representatives from York Region schools in Aurora and Vaughan, representing every province and the territories. For students, by students.

To make sure the night has a lasting impact on their peers, the students are working with Student Life Network, Canada’s largest online network of students, to raise money and mental health awareness for Kids Help Phone. For every student that joins, a donation will be made.

Further details can be found at promison2020.com.
