Ontario is reporting another 260 confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total for the province to 1,966 cases this morning, March 31.
York Region is reporting a total of 247 confirmed cases this morning, with additional cases in Richmond Hill and Vaughan.
In Ontario, there are now 33 deaths — four in York Region — attributed to the virus and 534 recoveries reported. Almost 11 per cent of cases have resulted in hospitalization across the province.
Yeterday, the province reported 351 new cases, which was an all-time high for single-day confirmed cases. The next highest daily total was today's at 260, followed by March 29 at 211 new cases. March 18 was the first day Ontario reported a triple-digit increase in the day's lab-confirmed results.
The number of cases under investigation has dropped to 4,280 with 51,629 tests completed in Ontario.
The median age for cases in Ontario is 50 years old, and there's about a 50-50 split between male and female cases. Greater Toronto Area public health units account for nearly 60 per cent of the province's cases.
Of the total cases reported in the province, 25 per cent are travel-related, and 47 per cent have exposure information still pending.
