Need help paying your hydro bill, Newmarket?

Programs available to residents struggling financially during COVID-19 disruption

If you are living on a low income and struggling financially during the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, help is available for your hydro bill.

“We realize that this may be a difficult time for everyone and want you to know that we are here to assist you in any way we can,” Newmarket-Tay Power officials said in a statement. “If you are experiencing financial difficulty, please contact our customer service team and they will assist you in making payment arrangements.”

Assistance is available to eligible low-income customers through the Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP), as well as emergency funding through the Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP). For more information on these programs, call 905-895-6276.

Newmarket hydro offers an online portal that allows customers to monitor their account details and billing information. You can enroll in e-billing to receive your bill electronically and join one of the company’s convenient payment plans. Visit here for more information.

“During these uncertain events, we want to ensure that customers have peace of mind and know that their service will not be disconnected,” the statement said.
