NEWS RELEASE
TOWN OF EAST GWILLIMBURY
*************************
As of July 29, at 4 p.m., the town will reopen all 42 playgrounds in East Gwillimbury. For a full list of park locations and amenities, please visit www.eastgwillimbury.ca/parks.

The town would like to thank residents for their patience as staff prepared to reopen playgrounds in a safe manner. Since the town received notice that East Gwillimbury would move into Stage Three, parks staff have been hard at work completing mandatory CSA inspections on the equipment to ensure they were safe for use, and preparing procedures and signage.

Residents are reminded to follow all social gathering and physical distancing guidelines when visiting playgrounds to help keep our community safe. Please follow all signage posted in the area and for your safety and the safety of others please play safe and remember the following:

  1. Maintain physical distancing of 2 meters.
  2. Remember to wash or disinfect your hands before and after visiting.
  3. Follow all provincial guidelines for group gatherings.
  4. If physical distancing is not possible, wait until others leave or return at another time.
  5. Be courteous and share this space with the community. Limit your time and ensure others have a chance to use this amenity.
  6. Avoid touching your face with hands.

The town would like to remind residents that equipment is not sanitized, and to use at your own risk. The town will continue to monitor provincial updates and are preparing safety procedures for potential further openings of municipal recreation facilities.
