WATCH: Province to invest $2M to support sanitation tech

The product can decontaminate up to 800 N95 masks per hour, the province says

Update:

The Ontario government is spending $2 million from the Ontario Together Fund to help Clean Works Medical and Pure Life Machinery manufacture a one-of-a-kind sanitizing device called the Clean Flow Healthcare Mini.

This device is a Health Canada-approved innovation based on existing technology, designed to disinfect fresh produce with UV light, hydrogen peroxide, and ozone.

This Ontario-made device can decontaminate up to 800 N95 masks per hour along with other personal protective equipment, according to a press release sent by Ford's government today.

The money will help the company to scale up production to nearly triple its current capacity, as well as support 19 new jobs and the purchase and installation of metal fabrication, equipment assembly, and facility modifications.

Original story:

Premier Doug Ford is slated to make an announcement at 1:00 p.m. today from Beamsville, Ontario.

Ford will be joined by Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, to make the announcement.

The announcement comes just after news that Windsor-Essex, the only region which has not advanced to Stage 3 of reopening, will remain in Stage 2 for a little while longer still.

Village Media will carry the livestream, so stay tuned.
