NewmarketToday, in partnership with the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre, brings you a regular feature highlighting special pets in need of adoption.

No one likes to spend the holidays alone. If you’ve been thinking of adopting a pet, give the gift of a loving family to a homeless animal, like Onyx.

Onyx is an eight-year-old female Boxer/Catahoula Leopard dog mix with a heart of gold. Her quirky smile and docile personality is hard to resist.

This sweet girl would prefer a home where she can be the baby, and there are no young children. She is fixed, microchipped and vaccinated. Participate in iAdopt for the Holidays and give Onyx the home she deserves.

iAdopt for the Holidays, supported by Royal Canin, runs until Dec. 31 at participating SPCAs, Humane Societies and rescue groups nationwide. The goal is to get as many animals as possible placed into loving homes during the holiday season. Last year, more 4,000 animals from across Canada found their forever homes during the iAdopt for the Holidays campaign.

If you are interested in adopting Onyx, come by the Provincial Education & Animal Centre in Stouffville to meet her. Or, for more information on Onyx or other animals waiting for homes this holiday season, visit peac.ontariospca.ca or call 905-898-7122, ext. 306.
