Adopt Me: Joplin can be shy at first

She would prefer an adult-only home, or one with older children who would give her some space

NewmarketToday, in partnership with the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre, brings you a regular feature highlighting special pets in need of adoption.

Joplin is a playful and sweet-natured kitten who is looking for someone to welcome her into their life! This eight-month-old brown tabby is looking for the purrfect home. Joplin can be shy a at first, but will warm up to new home over time. She enjoys the company of other cats and would be a great friend for a cat.

A very independent cat, Joplin will cuddle, but only on her terms and usually at night. She doesn’t enjoy being held and would thrive in an adult-only home, or a home with older children who would give her space when needed. Joplin loves to play and chase after toys.

For the last six months Joplin has been housed in a foster home with a senior cat. Joplin has a heart murmur, but it doesn’t impact her behaviour and she does not currently require any medication or special veterinary attention.

Animal care staff at the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre can provide full details about her medical history.

Joplin is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated and has been given flea protection.
